World leader in flexible conduit technology introduces new products at APTA EXPO 2008
A world leader in flexible conduit system technology for locomotive, carriage, trackside and infrastructure applications, Adaptaflex returns to Expo 2008 to debut its latest innovative products. Also on the stand for the first time is sister company Harnessflex, which manufactures specialist conduit systems for the protection of bus, coach and truck harnesses.
The company, whose customers include the foremost suppliers of public transportation systems and infrastructure throughout the world, supplies flexible tubing and conduit systems for critical power and data cable protection.
Adaptaflex is showing its new PADL range of non-metallic conduit and fittings for the first time. This dual standard, UL 1696 system, is lightweight, liquid tight and easy to handle offering lower installed costs and has much greater flexibility than liquid tight metallic conduit systems. CUS certified via the CSA test house, there are five sizes from ½" to 1¼" with a range of straight and 90º NPT thread fittings.
The all-new ‘Adaptalok ATS' system, which combines system performance and integrity with speed of installation, is likely to be of particular interest.
Produced by a sophisticated molding process, it achieves ingress protection ratings up to IP68 and IP69k by a simple push-twist-pull installation process, without the need for tools. A full range of options is available including straight and elbows with nylon or swivel metal threads, ideal for rail applications.
Suitable for use inside or beneath trains and carriages, as well as on public transport, light rail and tramway systems, Type CP utilizes a special co-polymer material that offers high flexibility, with a wide operating temperature range, Low Fire Hazard (LFH) capability and extremely low toxicity. It facilitates the use of one-piece, push and twist Adaptalok fittings, making installation both fast and effective, with IP66 ingress protection as standard.
Used by major engine manufacturers and in commercial vehicles such as coaches, buses and trucks, Harnessflex products provide bespoke design solutions for vehicle wiring installation and protection. Its products meet all the international standards and offer a complete solution for routing vehicle wiring and its protection against mechanical abrasion or liquid ingress, enhancing vehicle reliability.
