Adaptasteel systems for corrosive and chemical environments
Two new, dedicated steel systems have been added to the Adaptasteel range of flexible metallic conduits from Adaptaflex for the protection of vulnerable cables in demanding installations.
Designed for corrosive, chemical and heavy industrial environments, the systems are both overbraided with stainless steel for added protection, without restricting their flexibility. Type SSB has a stainless steel flexible conduit core, while Type SSBGS utilises a traditional galvanised steel flexible conduit core.
Both are designed to offer high flexibility and high fatigue life, are inherently low fire hazard and provide standard EMI screening for the cables carried within the systems when used with Type SB fittings. In static applications the systems are suitable for operation in a temperature range from -50ºC to +300ºC, while for moving applications from -45ºC to 250ºC.
Type SSB and SSBGS are available in five nominal conduit sizes, the 10mm through to 25mm sizes come in reel lengths of 25 metres, the largest 32mm size is available in 10 metre reel lengths.
As with all its products, Adaptaflex conduit systems have the British Kitemark approval to IEC61386 Performance Classification Standard which guarantees that they meet performance specifications, for fatigue life, operating temperatures, non-flame propagation, IP ratings among other criteria.
Full details on the new range of flexible conduit systems and products are available in the Adaptaflex Flexible Conduit Systems catalogue for Critical Power and Data Cable Protection. Copies are available direct from Adaptaflex, marketing@adaptaflex.com or via the website, www.adaptaflex.com.
